Inspiring the Mozambique Collection

Warmer breezes… longer days… wildflowers popping up along the roadside. The signs of spring, of life and light and renewal after the long dark days of winter. It’s the season of life bursting with tiny but vibrant colors ranging from bright and bold to soft and pastel.

Just like the new season, our Spring 2017 Collection is an array of colors from vivid turquoise to soft blues to bold red. Accents that bring a burst of color into your home, your travels, your outdoor adventures. These are colors that were found and inspired by our time in Mozambique last summer. The hues and textures found in beachside cafes, local marketplaces, fishermen boats, and the clear waters of the Indian Ocean. They’re the colors of nature and celebration and a life of thriving.

And we’re thrilled to expand our line of homewares to include our first collection of baskets! Crafted in on the shoreline of Mozambique, each basket is expertly woven using local ilala palm leaves, handcrafted tools, and age-old weaving techniques. Traditionally used to carry home the daily catch, sort peanuts, or display produce in the local market, these baskets are both functional and artistic expressions. By blending of a few local designs, our new partners at the Awavehi Basket Group curated a custom collection exclusively for Marra (formally Ara Collective). We hope you love them as much as we do.

So open up those windows and let the season of renewal begin! Refresh your home with a new pop of color that inspires you, textures that renew your space, and pieces that tell stories of cultures, heritage, and people in far off places.
